The other day in class the subject of waffles was introduced.
Thanks Mai for the yummy sweets from the new waffle shop near Higashi High School!
One point:
Did you know “waffle” in Belgium means honeycomb for its pattern.
Another thing is the wafer biscuit gave birth to the modern day waffle,
however the waffle uses yeast to rise.

ある日のクラスでワッフルのことが紹介されました。
まいさん、おいしいスイーツをありがとう！
東高の近くに新しいワッフルのお店ができたそうですよ！
ワンポイント：
”ワッフル”とはベルギーではその形から「蜂の巣」という意味の言葉だって知ってました？
また、現在のワッフルはウェハースビスケットから生まれたのですが、
ワッフルはイーストを使ってふくらませるところが主な違いなんです。
ちなみにこのお店の”moelleux”という名前は「ふっくらとした」という意味のフランス語だそうです。
