Hi there , today I’ll tell you about “Fourth of July”.
Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States.
Similar to other summer-themed events, Independence Day celebrations often take place outdoors. Independence Day is a federal holiday, so all non-essential federal institutions (like the postal service and federal courts) are closed on that day.

今日は”Fourth of July”についてお話しましょう。
アメリカ独立記念日(Independence Day)は、1776年にグレート・ブリテン王国からのアメリカ独立宣言が公布されたことを記念して、毎年7月4日に定められているアメリカ合衆国の祝日です。
アメリカでは「独立記念日（インディペンデンス・デイ）」と呼ばれるのがもっとも一般的ですが、単に「7月4日」（”Fourth of July”）とだけ言うこともよくあります。
独立記念日には各地でパレード、バーベキュー、カーニバル、ピクニック、コンサート、野球などのイベントが開かれます。また独立記念日恒例の打ち上げ花火は1777年以来の伝統行事です。
他の夏のイベントと同じように、独立記念日のお祝いの多くは外で行われます。
独立記念日は国の祝日なので、郵便局や裁判所のような公的機関もこの日はお休みになるんですよ。
